Manulife Investments launches Manulife Global Semiconductor Opportunities Fund in Hong Kong to capture AI-driven growth

HONG KONG — Manulife Investments announced today the launch of the Manulife Global Fund – Global Semiconductor Opportunities Fund (the “Fund” or “Manulife Global Semiconductor Opportunities Fund”) in Hong Kong, offering investors access to a high-conviction strategy designed to capture growth opportunities in the global semiconductor sector. As semiconductors continue to drive transformative technological advancements, the Fund seeks to harness the long-term growth potential of this critical industry.

The Fund aims to achieve capital appreciation by investing at least 70% of its net assets in equity and equity-related securities of companies in the semiconductor and semiconductor-related industries, listed globally.

The semiconductor industry, projected to surpass USD 1 trillion by 20301, is a key enabler of Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, and digital connectivity. Growth drivers such as AI accelerators, data centers, and autonomous vehicles are reshaping demand, while the rise of IoT, with 41 billion devices expected by 20302, underscores the sector’s increasing influence in digital transformation.

The Fund is built on an investment strategy designed to leverage active investing for capturing growth potential in the semiconductor and AI ecosystem. This strategy is anchored by four key pillars:
